This painting includes collage elements from a map found in my late father in law's Prius. The Milwaukee area map contained notes from my late mother in law, Anita, on directions to my parent's home. This was before Google! I love the handwritten note, along with the mono prints of organic material and bright blues, greens and oranges.
I added the grid at the last moment as I felt it needed some stability. The grid lends itself to the theme of travel--the feeling of excitement we have on a road trip, not knowing what adventures await us.
