Hope Rising
Acrylic and Ink on Arches Water Color Paper.
I usually cover the entire canvas with paint--can't help myself. But sometimes, I can. In this piece, I was playing with organic and geometric shapes and then played with some black India ink, which is one of my favorite mediums because it's so expressive and you can't control it. I like to use it with an eye dropper and just see what happens. After all, if I hate it, I can always cover it up with paint. I loved the looseness of this combined with the geometry. It just feels like spring is coming alive.
